Introducing the Bruininks Motor Ability Test (BMAT)—an individually administered, standardized test of gross and fine motor skills for adults. It’s an adaptation of the trusted Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition (BOT™-2), widely used for ages 4 through 21. The BMAT is ideal for professionals in occupational and physical therapies, nursing, human performance, and physical rehabilitation to determine if clients’ motor function issues need to be addressed before they can live independently. The BMAT also helps you set treatment goals and monitor progress. What’s more, you can repeat administrations over the course of treatment and adjust goals as needed.
Comprehensive, stand-alone subtests
For maximum flexibility, you can administer all the subtests or focus on one or two specific motor skill areas. That’s because each subtest has the content, reliability, validity, and sensitivity to stand on its own. Subtests include:
- Fine Motor Integration
- Manual Dexterity
- Balance and Mobility
- Strength and Flexibility
Each subtest can be administered in as little as 15 minutes and you receive three score composites—Fine Motor, Gross Motor, and Total Motor. Also included is the Short Form that offers a quick measure of overall motor ability in just 20 minutes.
A built-in dashboard makes administration easy
An Administration Easel provides an at-a-glance dashboard with a detailed description of how to administer and score each item. Included are verbatim instructions and illustrative photos for the examiner and examinee.
Scoring that provides better insight anytime, anywhere
BMAT is available on Q-global™—Pearson’s new web based platform for scoring and reporting. It’s accessible anytime, from any computer connected to the Internet . Secure and affordable, this system helps you quickly and automatically organize information, generate scores, and produce accurate, comprehensive reports. Q-global also offers:
- 24 x 7 secure, web-based access
- Portability: Q-global can be used on mobile devices such as a laptop or tablet
- On-demand, reliable scoring and comprehensive reporting solutions
- Pricing on a per-report basis
Two options for scoring and reporting the BMAT are now available on Q-global.
The first option is to pay per-report. Customers who administer the BMAT only a few times each year, or those who want the flexibility to pay only as the assessment is used, may prefer this option.
The second option is to select an “unlimited use” subscription, where one user of the BMAT gets unlimited scoring and reporting for one, three, or five years depending on the selected term of the subscription. This may be a better option for customers who administer the BMAT several times each year—and don’t want to worry about keeping track of their report expenses.
